I have been working as a broadcast editor for over eighteen years now and since my first job as editor of “Ros na Rún” (I’m lucky to have fluent Gaeilge) scripted drama has always been my passion. Since that first job I have had stints cutting documentary and factual for BBC, Waddell and Ka-boom in Belfast. Raygun, Midas and Element in Dublin and Aniar in Dingle to name but a few. I returned to scripted Drama in 2015 with Red Rock and since then I have tried to maintain a balance of drama and documentary, cutting my first feature “Mandrake” in 2022 and the channel 5 prime time drama “Black Cab” in 2023. I firmly believe working between the two disciplines has helped hone my skills in both.
I see myself very much as a storyteller and in 2015 whilst working on Red Rock I enrolled in the MA in screenwriting course in IADT where I received a first class honour for my script “The Brink”. Since then I have continued to write and have placed well in competitions for two of my comedy pilots and in 2022 I received development funding for my feature film script “Saoirse” under the “Géalán” scheme which is funded by amongst others TG4 and BBC.
A Dub based in Dingle I have a full kit (Avid and PP) with remote setup down here but happy to travel if required.
